How importance of design in eCommerce?
Well, lets think about this firstly from the customers’ point of view.
One evening a customer is looking for a new LED television, he searches and searches, then finally finds a product that he likes and the price. Goes through the shopping experience and before you know it he has bought the perfect items without any hestitation. Simple right!
What made this person have the ‘feel good’ factor? Yes first the perfect product and price but what else?
Design. A good design helped make the experience comfortable and pleasurable. A badly design website can fustrate customer and leave site even if the product and price are perfect. This kind of experience will make this customer return to such site over a competitors without hestitation (your so called returning customer). This experience is mostly likey be shared in a positive way with the community.
When the design is wrong, you can feel isolated, lost, distressed and badgered. When it’s right, you feel warm, appreciated, valued and accepted.
One of the best recent success story on design and the experience can be seen with iPod, iPhone and iPad. iPod a MP3 player – MP3 player has been out for years but how this MP3 Player changed ways. iPhone a mobile phone, nothing different in revolution but Apple made ‘the experience’ a great one. Okay I know this is not eCommerce but I hope you see my point - Power of good design!
Well, it starts with the design. Confidence in your own design is tangible. Once the user has found you and is following their nose around your layout, they can smell it. When they know it all works – that it’s all been made with them in mind – they relax. When they relax, they drop their inhibitions. They start to feel that anything’s possible and at that point of intersection – when all your hunches, thoughts, bright ideas, knowledge and creativity come together – that’s when they reach for their credit card.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Northampton
SEO from little as £50 per month
SEO; three little letters that just seem to crop up everywhere when it comes to the online world. The acronym stands for search engine optimisation, but what does that actually mean and how can SEO benefit you and your site?
Essentially, SEO is about helping your website to stand out and get noticed by the search engines. With billions of sites now online, it’s very easy for even the best written, most fabulously designed site to get lost in cyberspace without a little bit of a boost from search engine optimisation. This will improve your ranking on the listings that all the major search engines, including Google, MSN, Yahoo! and Ask, return when a search is entered that is relevant to you, your business industry, product or service. It’s a fact that people don’t trawl through countless pages of search results, instead most people will click on sites only within the first page. So the first page of the search engine results is where you need to be when it comes to getting your website noticed.
But the question is, how to get up there onto that all-important first page? Search engine optimisation can be done in two ways; there is on page optimisation and also off page optimisation. The first takes place, as the name suggests, on your website pages themselves. The site is made ‘search-bot friendly’ by optimising the density of keywords such as your product, service and location so that search engines immediately recognise your website as highly relevant to a search. Off-page optimisation is done by building a network of links back to your site. These ‘backlinks’ can be placed across the internet and the more the better because each one is counted by the search-bots as a sort of vote for your site, making it more noticeable and improving its ranking on thE search listings.
When it comes to effective search engine optimisation, the best way to boost your site is with a good combination of both on page optimisation and off page link building. Your website will get more hits with a higher search engine ranking for relevant searches, and hopefully those extra hits should translate into extra customers for you. It’s perfectly possible to carry out this essential process yourself, although it will require an ample time commitment, or you can get a web design and SEO professional such as Rak Design to optimise your site for you. Either way, make sure that you look into SEO for your website as it really is vital that even the best websites undergo a thorough search engine optimisation campaign to make them stand out from the online crowd.
